Pakistan has defeated India by 191 runs in the Under-19 Asia Cup final. This is the second time that Pakistan has won the Under-19 Asia Cup title. In this match played in Dubai, Pakistan team had scored 347 runs while playing first, in response to this, Team India was limited to only 156 runs. From batting to bowling, the Indian team was a flop. Know here due to which three big reasons India lost the final match.
1. Sameer did not break Minhas first
In the final match, Pakistan’s opener Sameer Minhas played a historic inning of 172 runs in 113 balls. Minhas was already in good form, he had played an inning of 177 runs in the same tournament. He had scored 299 runs in 4 innings before the final match. The Indian team management should have made special preparations against Minhas in advance, but the Indian bowlers were badly beaten against him.
2. Indian batting collapsed under pressure
Indian bowling was a flop in the final match, due to which Pakistan team could reach a huge score of 347 runs. After that the batsmen had to bat in a powerful and composed manner. But within no time Team India had lost 3 wickets by the time it reached the score of 49. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was out after scoring 26 runs and captain Ayush Mhatre was out after scoring 2 runs. In-form batsmen like Vihaan Malhota and Abhigyan Kundu also lost their wickets in a pressure-packed match.
3. Should have won the toss and batted
The history of the Under-19 Asia Cup has been that chasing the final has never been easy. Before this, Under-19 Asia Cup was played 11 times, in which only 2 times the chasing team was victorious. Despite a poor chasing record in the final, India won the toss and chose to bowl first. There is a different pressure of chasing in the final, under which Team India collapsed.
4. Pakistani pace attack proved costly
Indian batting started fading in front of Pakistan’s pace attack. The Indian team was all out for just 156 runs and all the wickets for Pakistan were taken by the fast bowlers. Especially Ali Raza bowled 6.2 overs and took four wickets. Whereas Mohammad Sayyam, Abdul Subhan and Huzaifa Ahsan took two wickets each. All of them are fast bowlers.
