The Karnataka government has announced many important schemes keeping in mind the education, welfare and economic empowerment of minority communities. The government will upgrade 117 Maulana Azad Model Schools and Urdu schools to Karnataka Public Schools at a cost of Rs 600 crore. Apart from this, a provision of Rs 400 crore has been made to upgrade 100 more schools.
To promote education, 10 Sant Shishunala Sharif residential schools will be established with CBSE curriculum. There is also a plan to open 25 more such schools next year. To encourage higher education, 5,000 meritorious minority students from economically weaker sections will be given laptops worth Rs 50,000.
100 crore allocated for Jain-Buddhist and Sikh
Apart from this, Rs 100 crore has been allocated for the overall development of Jain, Buddhist and Sikh communities. Under this, a monthly honorarium of Rs 6,000 will also be given to the Dhammacharis of the Buddhist community. Dr. B.R. The works of Ambedkar and other social reformers will be translated into Urdu, so that their ideology can be made more widely accessible to Urdu readers.
Government will give subsidy of Rs 3 lakh for mobile kitchen
To promote self-employment, unemployed minority youth will be given subsidy of up to 75% (maximum Rs 3 lakh) to start fast-food truck trailer and mobile kitchen. Apart from this, Waqf properties located in prime commercial areas will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, so that they can be better utilized and generate more revenue.
