9,550 kg explosives seized from Suleman Khan’s house, accused arrested, agencies on high alert

On Sunday (January 25), police seized 9,550 kg of ammonium nitrate from a house in Nagaur, Rajasthan. Nagaur SP Mridul Kachhwa said that based on internal information, a special team of Nagaur police raided the Thanwala residence of accused Suleman Khan and recovered a huge quantity of explosives.

According to the police, Suleman had hidden explosive material in his farm, which included 9,550 kg of ammonium nitrate in 187 cartons, 9 cartons of detonators, 15 bundles of blue colored wire, 9 bundles of red colored wire and other things.

What did Nagaur SP tell?
SP said that 3 cases are also registered against accused Suleman Khan in Thanwala of Nagaur, Padukkallan and Chaupasani of Alwar. These three cases have been registered under the Explosives Act. Police arrested Suleman and registered a case against him under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code and Explosives Act, 1884.

Central agencies can inquire
Another senior police officer said that Suleman also used to supply explosive material to the mine owners. However, considering the huge quantity seized, we suspect that he may also be involved in some bigger conspiracy. We can also contact central agencies to interrogate him.
