Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhary has targeted Trinamool Congress (TMC) after the ED raid on the office of I-PAC in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. He has alleged that political consultancy company I-PAC works like the eyes and ears of West Bengal’s ruling party Trinamool Congress (TMC) and is engaged in making strategies to ensure TMC’s electoral victory in the state.
Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary said regarding the ED raid on Thursday (January 8, 2026), ‘I-PAC is a corporate company. What is the use of this for Mamata Banerjee’s party? He said, ‘I-PAC works like the eyes and ears of Trinamool. They are busy making every kind of strategy to ensure the victory of Trinamool and for this they can do anything in exchange for money.

While targeting TMC, the Congress leader also expressed concern about the central agencies. He said, ‘The second most shocking thing is that in the past years, allegations have been made against us on the basis of all kinds of sensitive documents. Agencies like ED and CBI are being misused by the ruling party of our country (BJP), even used to make false allegations and false indictments against our party leaders, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhary said that these incidents reveal the alleged misuse of investigating agencies for political purposes. He demanded fair action in this matter.
What did Mamata Banerjee say about ED raids?
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday conducted raids in Kolkata on premises linked to a political consultancy company (I-PAC) and its director Prateek Jain as part of its money laundering probe, official sources said. He said that Jain is the co-founder of Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC). He is also the head of the IT department of West Bengal’s ruling party Trinamool Congress (TMC).
Amid the ED raid, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suddenly reached the residence of I-PAC chief Prateek Jain and alleged that the central agency was trying to seize Trinamool’s internal documents, hard disk and sensitive data related to its election strategy.
