TRAI New System: If the mobile network or internet repeatedly deceives you in your home, office or apartment, then now its picture may change. Telecom regulator TRAI has launched a new system for testing and rating digital connectivity within buildings. Under this, RANext Technologies has been authorized as a digital connectivity rating agency.
It got an important responsibility
According to the information released by TRAI, RANext Technologies will now evaluate the digital infrastructure in different properties across the country. This test will be completely based on the user’s experience, that is, the rating will be given on the basis of how strong and reliable the network is in actual use. In this, the quality of fiber network, mobile connectivity inside the building, performance of broadband and Wi-Fi as well as preparedness for future smart technology will also be tested.
Why connectivity became necessary in the digital age
India is rapidly moving towards a digital-first economy, where work, education, banking, healthcare and entertainment are almost completely dependent on the Internet. About one billion people are using the internet every day and the trend of smart home and smart office is also increasing rapidly. In such a situation, the digital performance of any building has become an important part of its value and user experience.
major shortage of modern buildings
The surprising thing is that even today most new buildings are not designed or tested from the digital performance point of view. The result is that network and internet related problems arise while living or working, the solution of which later proves to be difficult and expensive.
What is DCRA Star Rating Framework
TRAI’s Digital Connectivity Rating Framework is an attempt to overcome this shortcoming. Under this, the digital connectivity and communication system present inside the building will be evaluated on the basis of fixed standards. Then star rating will be given accordingly so that the digital preparedness of any property can be assessed objectively and clearly.
Both buyers and developers will benefit
This initiative will encourage builders to include strong digital infrastructure at the initial stage of project designing. At the same time, it will be easier for those buying or renting a house or office to understand what is the level of network and internet in a building.
Big step for digital infrastructure
According to Ankit Goyal, Chairman and Founder, Space World Group, RANext’s parent company, this initiative makes the company not just a provider of connectivity solutions but also a trusted evaluator of digital infrastructure. This step of TRAI may prove to give a new identity to the digital experience of buildings in the coming times.
