Even after 10 years, people did not get houses… ED’s big action in Ramprastha Group case, property worth Rs 80 crore attached

ED of Gurugram Zonal Office has taken major action in the money laundering case related to real estate company Ramprastha Promoters and Developers Private Limited. ED has temporarily attached movable and immovable properties worth Rs 80.03 crore on December 17, 2025 under the PMLA law.

According to ED, the attached properties include properties of Vatika Group, Unitech Group and other companies. It is alleged that the money taken from home buyers was diverted to these companies instead of completing the project.

Allegations of fraud against the group
ED had started investigating this case on the basis of several FIRs registered by EOW of Delhi and Haryana Police. It was alleged in the FIR that Ramprastha Group and its promoters defrauded thousands of flat and plot buyers. People were promised flats and plots within the stipulated time, but even after 10 to 14 years, possession was not received.

Promised to give possession in 3-4 years
Investigation revealed that between 2008 and 2011, Ramprastha Group had launched several projects like Project Edge, Project Skies, Project Rise and Ramprastha City in Sectors 37D, 92, 93 and 95 of Gurugram. In these projects, possession was promised in 3-4 years.

ED investigation revealed that the company collected about Rs 1100 crore from more than 2600 home buyers. But instead of using this money to complete the project, it was transferred to group and non-group companies in the name of loans, advances and land deals.

Assets worth Rs 786 crore attached
In this case, ED has already arrested two directors of the company, Arvind Walia and Sandeep Yadav on 21 July 2025. Both are currently in judicial custody. ED had earlier conducted search and seizure operation in this case and frozen and attached bank balance, movable and immovable properties worth about Rs 786 crore.

Now after the new attachment of Rs 80.03 crore, a total of assets worth Rs 866 crore have been attached or seized in this case. ED says that the investigation of the case is still going on.
