DMK MP from Tamil Nadu Dayanidhi Maran has given a controversial statement regarding the girls of North India. She said that girls in northern states are expected to stay at home and do household work, whereas, girls in Tamil Nadu are encouraged to study and pursue careers. Also said that Chief Minister MK Stalin is working on Dravidian principles. It can be ensured that girls are educated. Maran gave this statement at Quaid-e-Millat Government Women’s College, Chennai.
He said that our girl students should feel proud of themselves. We are proud of him. We want girls to study. In the states of North India, girls are asked not to go to jobs. They are asked to stay indoors and do household work. We want our girls to study.
Maran praised CM Stalin
During this, he also praised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin. He described Stalin as a better Chief Minister. Also described Tamil Nadu as the best state. Apart from this he said that this is a Dravidian model government. This was our Periyar. He was the one who awakened Dravidism in the state.
What is the female literacy rate in Tamil Nadu?
According to 2011 census data, the female literacy rate in Tamil Nadu is approximately 73.44 percent. These are figures related to the population aged seven years and above. This is higher than most of the states of North India. Female literacy rate in Uttar Pradesh is 57.18%, Haryana is 65.94%, Rajasthan is 52.12% and Himachal Pradesh is 75.93%.
Laptops distributed to girl students
Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu distributed laptops to girl students in colleges under the Ulagam Ungal Kaiyil Scheme. During this, he also expressed happiness over distributing laptops to the girls. He also extended best wishes for the New Year and Pongal.
