The final of Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 will be played between India and Pakistan. Indian Under-19 team defeated Sri Lanka in the semi-final match held on Friday. Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in the second semi-final. The final of the tournament will be played on Sunday 21 February at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai.
The first semi-final between India and Sri Lanka started late due to rain. In this tournament of 50 overs, this match was decided for 20-20 overs. India won the toss and chose to bowl first. Batting first, Sri Lanka had scored 138 runs. While chasing the target, Aaron George (58) and Vihaan Malhotra (61) played half-centuries for India. India defeated Sri Lanka by 8 wickets, while in the other semi-final, Pakistan also won by 8 wickets.
The second semi-final was also played in 27 overs due to rain, in which Bangladesh, batting first, was all out for 121 runs. Abdul Subhan took 4 wickets for Pakistan. In reply, Pakistan achieved the target in the 17th over and won by 8 wickets.
India-Pakistan in the final for the first time since 2014
The last time India and Pakistan met in the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup was in 2014, when India won the title by defeating Pakistan by 40 runs. Earlier in 2012, the final of both the teams was fixed, but due to the match being tied, both the teams shared the trophy.
India in the final for the 10th time
The first edition of the Under-19 Asia Cup was played in 1989, in which India won the title by defeating Sri Lanka. In the second edition also, India defeated Sri Lanka in the final. For the first time in 2012, the final was held between India and Pakistan, after which the trophy was shared between both the teams. In 2014, once again the India vs Pakistan final took place, in which Team India won.
Team India had also reached the final in the previous edition (2024), but was defeated by Bangladesh in the title match. Pakistan last reached the final in 2017, but Afghanistan won the title and won the final.
