Whatsapp Deleted Message: WhatsApp has today become a daily necessity for every smartphone user. Many times it happens during chatting that the other person immediately deletes the message after sending it and only “This message was deleted” is seen written on the screen. In such a situation, the curiosity increases even more as to what was written in that message. Very few people know that there is a setting of WhatsApp through which in many cases the content of deleted messages can be seen.
Which setting is this?
Actually, this is not an inbuilt setting of WhatsApp but of Android phones, which is called Notification History. Whenever a message comes on WhatsApp, its notification is recorded in the phone. Even if the other person deletes the same message later, its text can still be saved in the notification history. With the help of this trick, deleted messages can be read.
How to turn on Notification History?
To use this feature, first of all you have to go to the Settings of your Android phone. There you will find the option of Notifications, within which the option of Advanced or direct Notification History is given. As soon as you turn on Notification History, notifications from all apps including WhatsApp start getting saved. Keep in mind that if this setting is not already on, then old deleted messages will not be visible.
How to view deleted messages?
When a WhatsApp message comes and is later deleted, you can check the notification of that time by going to Notification History. The text of the message is often visible there. However, this method works only for text messages. Photos, videos, voice notes, or GIFs can’t be viewed this way.
What are the limitations of this trick?
It is important to understand that this method does not work in every situation. If your phone was silent at the time of receiving the message or notifications were turned off then nothing will be saved in the Notification History. Apart from this, if the chat is very long, instead of the entire message being visible, only a part of it may be visible. This feature is not directly available for iPhone users.
Is this method safe?
It is completely based on the system settings of the phone and does not require any third party app, hence it is considered relatively safe. However, from the privacy point of view, it is important to keep in mind that when Notification History is turned on, all the notifications coming in your phone are saved.
Is this setting really useful?
If you often try to view deleted WhatsApp messages, then this setting can prove to be very useful for you. However, this should not be seen as a magic trick, rather it is better to understand it as a limited but useful feature.
