Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday (November 19) targeted the opposition regarding pollution in Delhi. He said that even after starting the debate on air pollution, the opposition parties were creating a situation of chaos and confusion and they (opposition leaders) did not even allow Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to speak on the same issue.
Kiren Rijiju while talking to India Today TV said, ‘It was registered in the name of Priyanka Vadra Gandhi and she was to be the keynote speaker but she herself did not give Priyanka Gandhi a chance to speak. Now I do not want to make any political sense out of how Congress blocked Priyanka Gandhi’s opportunity to speak on pollution.
What did Rijiju say about Priyanka Gandhi
He further said that Congress leaders derailed the discussion on pollution by climbing on chairs and tables and behaving in a completely uncivilized and undemocratic manner. Sharing his views about Priyanka Gandhi, Rijiju said that her presentations during the winter session were balanced and more acceptable than those of other opposition members.
Praising Priyanka Gandhi, Rijiju said that Priyanka maintained control over her speech and did not create any controversy with her comments. Rijiju also appreciated the behavior of Priyanka Gandhi. When asked how easy it was to talk to Priyanka and Sonia Gandhi as Parliamentary Affairs Minister compared to talking to Rahul Gandhi, Rijiju said that Priyanka is a little more active with ideas and suggestions.
Rijiju targeted Congress
On the uproar in Parliament over the deteriorating air quality in Delhi, Rijiju said that the entire day was set aside for a detailed discussion on pollution and the time was also allotted in advance. However, he alleged that the Congress leaders suddenly climbed on the chairs and tables and created a ruckus by disrupting the parliamentary proceedings.
