Amidst America’s efforts for post-war security arrangements in Gaza, a big statement has come out regarding Pakistan. The United States has praised Pakistan for considering joining the proposed international stabilization force for Gaza. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that America is grateful for this offer from Pakistan, due to which the political and military leadership in Islamabad seems excited.

In a press conference held at the end of the year, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Pakistan has offered to become part of the International Stabilization Force or at least consider it. He said, ‘We are grateful to Pakistan for this.’ This statement is being considered important from the point of view of America-Pakistan relations.
Talks are in the initial stages, many questions still remain
Rubio made it clear that talks with Pakistan and other potential countries are still at the initial stage. There is still no clarity on many important issues. He told that the countries with whom talks are being held want to know what will be the responsibilities of this force, what will be its clear objective and how it will be funded.
Many countries can come forward as soon as the conditions are cleared
The US Secretary of State says that as soon as the answers to these questions become clear, many countries may be ready to join this stabilization force. He pointed out that there exist countries that can be acceptable to all parties in this conflict and can play a role in bringing stability to Gaza.
Pakistan’s role depends on information
Rubio said that Pakistan’s participation will depend on whether it gets necessary information and satisfactory answers or not. He said that Pakistan is an important country, but before that America will have to clear many aspects related to this plan.
Next step to decide governance in Gaza
According to America, the next big step is to create a governance system for Gaza. Rubio said that under this, a peace board will be announced and a group of Palestinian technical experts will be formed, which will help in day-to-day administration. He told that when the administrative structure is ready, then the issues related to the stabilization force will be discussed in detail. In this it will be decided how the expenses will be raised, how the rules will be followed and what will be the role of this force in disarmament.
Gaza conflict continues from October 2023
It is noteworthy that the conflict in Gaza started in October 2023 after Hamas attacks on Israel. In response, Israel launched a large-scale military operation. Since then, America has been making continuous diplomatic efforts regarding ceasefire, humanitarian aid and administration of Gaza after the war.

America has clearly said that in any long-term arrangement it is important that Hamas does not become a military threat again. At the same time, the way for administration, security and reconstruction will be opened for common citizens.
