On Wednesday (January 14, 2025), America completely stopped visa processing of applicants coming from 75 countries. The reason behind this step of the Trump administration is to keep a close watch on those applicants who are considered likely to become public charges (dependent on government assistance) in America. The countries which have been banned by the Trump administration include names like Iran, Russia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Nigeria and Brazil. These restrictions will come into effect from January 21 and will remain in force indefinitely.
