Senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and national in-charge of the party’s IT cell, Amit Malviya has once again come into controversy. A formal complaint has been lodged against him at Narendrapur police station in West Bengal. It is alleged that his social media posts may deteriorate the communal harmony in the state and also pose a threat to the sovereignty of India. This complaint has been lodged by Tanmay Ghosh, State General Secretary and Spokesperson of All India Trinamool Congress.
According to Tanmay Ghosh’s complaint, Amit Malviya had shared a post on social media platform X on December 19, the language and context of which have been described as objectionable. It has been claimed in the complaint that this post is not only provoking people but is also damaging the peace and order of the state. The TMC leader alleges that through this post the West Bengal government, Trinamool Congress and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have been directly targeted.
Demand for legal action
In the complaint letter, the police have been requested to take strict action against Amit Malviya under the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and other related laws. Tanmay Ghosh says that such statements create fear and distrust in the society, which should not be ignored.

According to police sources, Narendrapur police station has received the complaint and it has also been confirmed. At present, FIR has not been registered in this matter. Police said that the content of the social media post is being investigated and further action will be decided only after preliminary investigation.
