Google Gemini: Google has introduced a new feature for Gemini which is being called Personalized Intelligence. After this update, with the user’s permission, Gemini has been able to give more accurate and personal answers by taking information from apps like Google Photos, Gmail. The company says that this will make the chatbot more intelligent and helpful than before. However, Google has also admitted that this AI is not completely accurate in sensitive matters related to relationships.
How does Personalized Intelligence work in Gemini?
Through this feature, Gemini answers questions by extracting necessary information from your connected apps. Suppose you do not remember your vehicle number or tire size, then Gemini can instantly tell you the correct information by scanning your old photos or emails.
This system integrates Gmail, Photos, YouTube and Google Search together, making it easy to find any information or make plans. For example, Gemini can look at your past travel records and preferences to plan a family trip or even suggest new ideas based on past activities.
Why can Gemini get stuck in relationship matters?
Despite such smart technology, Google admits that Gemini may draw wrong conclusions in some cases. Especially in topics like relationships and personal preferences. AI makes inferences based on patterns seen in your data, but it doesn’t always understand the full context.
For example, if your photos are often taken at a stadium, Gemini may assume that you like that sport very much, when in reality you go there for some other reason. Similarly, if someone has gone through a breakup or divorce, but photos from the old relationship still exist, the AI ​​may get confused. In such cases, users can repair Gemini midway.
What does Google have to say about your privacy?
Regarding data access, Google has made it clear that Gemini will not train itself with your photos or personal information. AI will only refer to that data to provide answers. That means Gemini will not remember your vehicle number but will learn how to recognize the number plate in the photo.
Additionally, whenever Gemini gives a personal reply, it will also mention from which app it has taken the information. If the user finds the answer unclear, they can immediately ask questions or provide the correct information to the AI.
How to use Gemini Personalized Intelligence?
This feature is currently in beta stage and has been made available to users taking Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscriptions in the US. To turn it on, you have to go to Gemini’s settings and select the Personalized Intelligence option and from there apps like Gmail or Photos can be connected.
Users have complete control over which app remains connected and when to delete the chat history. That means, along with convenience, control over one’s information also remains completely in the hands of the user.
