West Bengal News: A major accident has come to light in Ahalyanagar area of Kolkata, West Bengal. BLO Ashok Das of part number 110 of ward number 109 died under mysterious circumstances. His body was found hanging from the bathroom of the house. The family immediately took him to RN. Tagore was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Whether it is suicide or death due to some other reason will become clear only after the post mortem report comes. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police have started investigation.
Family’s allegation – there was heavy work pressure
The wife of the deceased BLO has alleged that Ashok Das was facing constant pressure from the Election Commission regarding the work related to SIR. He said that he was also being put under mental pressure from his neighbours.
Ashok Das’s sister told that a few days ago his brother had informed her about his ill health and also said that his workload was increasing. According to the sister, he also had heart problems. Meanwhile, claims of Trinamool supporters coming to the house have also come to light, due to which the family was under more stress.
Mourning among family members, future of wife and child uncertain
The family is completely devastated by this sudden accident. Ashok Das’s wife is in shock and the question that is constantly bothering her is what will she do with her younger son and how will his future be secured.
The wife says that she often advised her husband to reduce work pressure, but the work of SIR was very heavy. Neighbors also admitted that Ashok Das was a hardworking and calm person and used to do his work with full dedication.
Continuously increasing incidents of death, anger among BLO
Tension has increased among BLO employees since the start of SIR work in West Bengal. At many places, BLOs have fallen ill, some even resorted to suicide due to pressure. BLO employees supporting Trinamool have also protested in front of the CEO office regarding these incidents. He says that the workload is so high that many employees are suffering mental breakdown.
At present the police is investigating every aspect. The family and local people have demanded that there be a thorough investigation into the death so that the truth can come out. The death of Ashok Das has once again raised the question that for how long will the workload on BLO employees continue to become fatal.
