A heart-wrenching incident came to light in broad daylight on Thursday morning (January 15, 2026) in Kolar, Karnataka, where a 28-year-old nurse, who was on duty, was brutally stabbed to death. This incident took place near the bus depot area of Kolar Town, causing panic in the area. The deceased has been identified as Sujata, who was working in a private healthcare institute. According to the police, when she was leaving for duty on Thursday morning, 27-year-old accused Chiranjeevi stopped her on the way. There was an argument between the two over some issue, after which the accused suddenly took out a sharp weapon and stabbed Sujatha six times consecutively.
According to eyewitnesses, people were present nearby at the time of the incident, but the attack happened so fast that no one could intervene in time. Seriously injured Sujata collapsed on the spot and died there. After the incident, the local people stopped the accused from escaping, beat him up and later handed him over to the police. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.
Sujatha and the accused knew each other for a year
Initial investigation has revealed that Sujata and the accused knew each other for about a year. In recent times, there was tension in their relationship and Sujata reportedly wanted to end the relationship. Angered by this, the accused committed this dreadful incident. Police have arrested the accused and registered a case of murder under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). Detailed investigation of the case is going on.
