The POCSO court of Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday (December 20, 2025) convicted all the five accused in the much talked about gang rape case. The accused who have been declared guilty by the court include Zuber alias Sunil alias Parvez, Sajid, Dharamveer alias Jitendra, Naresh alias Sandeep Bahelia and Sunil Kumar alias Sagar.
This case of gang rape is of the year 2016, the investigation of which was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after the order of Allahabad High Court. On August 12, 2016, Allahabad High Court had directed to transfer the investigation of the FIR registered in Kotwali Dehat police station of Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh to CBI.
What is the whole matter?
According to police allegations, 5 to 6 armed miscreants had abducted six members of the same family at gunpoint in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. The accused looted cash and jewelery from the family and then held them hostage in the fields.
During this time, armed miscreants committed gang rape with two victims, one of whom was also a minor. After this, a case was registered against the accused under sections related to serious matters like gang rape, robbery, illicit relations and sexual harassment of a minor.
Prolonged investigation and court proceedings
After Allahabad High Court handed over the investigation of the case, CBI completed its investigation on November 5, 2016 and filed a charge sheet against three accused. After this, on April 18, 2018, a supplementary charge sheet was filed against three other accused. However, during the court proceedings, one of the accused in the case died in judicial custody. After this, the court conducted an investigation against the remaining five accused and finally declared them guilty.
When will the court sentence the culprits?
After completion of the trial in this case, the court has declared all five accused guilty. However, the court will soon give its verdict on the punishment of these culprits.
