Next week is going to be a bit of a relief for investors and traders of the Indian stock market. With the end of the year 2025, the last holidays of the month of December are starting. According to the official notification issued by Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE), there will be a one-day holiday in the market next week on Christmas.

This holiday has been scheduled for Thursday, December 25, 2025, on which day there will be no trading activity on Dalal Street. This pause in the market has come at a time when investors are often very active with their positions at the end of the year.

Trading will remain completely closed in all major segments like Equity, Equity Derivatives and Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB) during this Christmas holiday. The exchanges have clarified that after regular business till Wednesday, December 24, there will be a holiday on Thursday and the market will reopen at its scheduled time immediately thereafter on Friday, December 26.
