Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Assam’s capital Guwahati on Sunday (21 December 2025), where he started his tour from the Swahid Memorial area located in West Boragaon. Here he paid tribute to those martyred during the Assam movement and paid tribute to their sacrifice. The Prime Minister said that the struggle of these martyrs is a symbol of protecting the identity and rights of Assam.
According to ANI, during his visit to Guwahati, Church will participate in the program on examinations, in which the Prime Minister will talk to 25 talented students of Assam. This conversation will be held on a cruise running in the Brahmaputra river. PM Modi will communicate directly with students on topics like study stress, future preparation and self-confidence. This discussion taking place in the middle of the river is going to be special for the students.

Prime Minister Modi will reach Namrup in Dibrugarh district.
In the second part of the day, Prime Minister Modi reached Namrup in Dibrugarh district, where he will lay the foundation stone of a big fertilizer plant. This plant will have an annual production capacity of 12.7 lakh metric tons. The government believes that this project will not only increase fertilizer production, but will also provide timely fertilizer to the farmers and will give a new impetus to agricultural development in North-East India. Earlier on Saturday, the Prime Minister had inaugurated the new terminal building of the popular Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. He also paid tribute to the first Chief Minister of Assam by unveiling the statue of Bharat Ratna Gopinath Bordoloi at the entrance of the new terminal complex.
Assam’s development journey
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Modi said that Assam and the entire North-East India is now becoming the new gateway to the development of the country. He stressed that modern airports, better roads and strong connectivity are creating new opportunities in this region. According to PM Modi, when people see big highways and modern infrastructure in Assam, they feel that the state is now getting true justice. The Prime Minister described the love and support of the people of Assam, especially the mothers and sisters, as the source of his energy and said that another new chapter has been added in the journey of development of Assam.
