Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday (December 21, 2025) recovered a telescope used in an assault rifle amid high alert from Sidra area of Jammu and Kashmir. The most surprising thing is that Jammu and Kashmir Police has recovered the telescope from near the headquarters of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and it has been made in a Chinese company. After this incident, high alert has been declared in Jammu.
This suspicious device was caught during routine surveillance and checking near the high security area near the headquarters of NIA in Jammu and Kashmir. After the revelation of this shocking incident, senior officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police reached the spot and as a precautionary measure, the entire area was immediately completely cordoned off. Apart from this, after this recovery the security forces have tightened the security check in the surrounding areas. At the same time, a thorough investigation into the matter has been started.
Fear of committing a major crime
This telescope is used for precise aiming at the target from a long distance. In such a situation, after the telescope was found near the NIA Headquarters, it is feared that it could be an attempt to carry out some major terrorist incident.
Encounter has taken place between terrorists and security forces
There was an encounter between Indian security forces and terrorists last Monday (December 15, 2025) in Suan village of Majalta area of Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. A soldier of Jammu and Kashmir Police was martyred in this encounter. Jammu Range Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bhim Sen Tuti had said that the security forces had come in contact with the terrorists in this village, after which the security forces opened fire. After this the encounter started between the terrorists and the security forces. IGP Bhim Sen Tuti had said that during the encounter, a joint team of Indian Army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) along with Special Operation Group (SOG) carried out the action.
