West Bengal News: A very painful and horrifying incident has come to light from Behala area of Kolkata, West Bengal. A woman named Anita Ghosh, living in B Block of Priyadarshini Apartment on Becharam Chatterjee Street, was murdered with a knife on Monday morning. The body of the woman was found in a blood soaked condition, due to which a sensation has spread in the entire area.
According to the information, an elderly couple Anita Ghosh and her husband lived in that flat. The husband has been seriously ill for the last eight years and remains bedridden due to dementia. Multiple blows on the body, marks of throat slit
According to the police, multiple knife stab marks were found on the woman’s body and her throat was also slit. Initial investigations have described the murder as “extremely brutal”. The woman’s husband, being weak and incapable, could not even raise his voice for help.
Local councilor and police sources said that a nanny and a cook regularly visited the flat to help the couple. On the basis of suspicion, the police have detained the nanny, the cook and another person for questioning. At present the police is investigating the case from all angles.
The family expressed suspicion of theft
According to family members, Anita and her husband’s son have taken a flat on rent nearby and live there. The family says that around Rs 1 lakh in cash was kept in the house as the old man could not go to the bank. The family members are suspecting that the murder may have been committed to steal this money. A family member said, “My sister-in-law was brutally stabbed to death. So many blows, so much cruelty, it is hard to believe that someone did this.”
According to the family, deceased Anita Ghosh was a musician and used to teach singing to students. He also participated in Doordarshan programs. She was known as a woman with a calm and simple nature. The police are looking at the matter seriously and are investigating all aspects including the conspiracy behind the murder, presence of cash in the house, and the role of the domestic staff.
