The answer is not so simple but you will definitely be shocked after knowing the figures.
What does 1 billion views mean?
1 billion means 100 crore views. This is no small feat and very few videos in the world can reach this figure. But the number of views alone does not decide the earning, many other factors play an important role in it.
How does YouTube pay?
YouTube pays creators mainly through advertisements. When a user watches a video and watches or skips the ads shown on it, then earning is done on that basis. In common language it is called CPM (Cost Per 1000 Views) and RPM (Revenue Per 1000 Views).

RPM reaches Rs 200 → the figure can go up to Rs 20 crore
That means the earning on 1 billion views can range from a few crores to several crores of rupees.
Why is the earning of each channel different?
Not all YouTubers get the same amount. The reason for this is the type of content. Advertisements are expensive in niches like technology, finance and business, hence RPM is higher there. Whereas music, comedy or viral shorts have more views but the RPM remains low. Apart from this, which country the audience is from, how long the video was watched and how many ads were seen, all these also affect the earnings.

Not only from ad revenue, but YouTubers also earn big money from brand deals, sponsorship, super chat, membership and merchandise. Many times, more money comes from brand deals than from a video with 1 billion views.
