‘The work is being done by enslaving Indians…’, Owaisi made this appeal to Foreign Minister Jaishankar regarding Myanmar-Thailand

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President and MP Asaduddin Owaisi has put forward the painful story of 16 Indians stranded on the Myanmar-Thailand border and has demanded immediate intervention from the Central Government. These include three youths from Hyderabad, who were taken abroad on the pretext of jobs and are now being brutally tortured there. Owaisi has written a letter to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar requesting him to free these youth from the clutches of the gang that is making them ‘modern slaves’.

Betrayed to get job in Thailand: Owaisi

Owaisi said, ‘According to media reports and information available on social media platforms, this matter is very serious. Mir Sajjad Ali, a resident of Osman Nagar, Hyderabad, has informed his family that he and his companions were taken to the Myanmar border on the pretext of getting a good job in Thailand. There their passports and mobile phones were confiscated and they are forced to work for 18 to 20 hours a day. There is complete lack of medical facilities at the spot and they are being subjected to severe physical torture for minor mistakes.

International gangs of human trafficking are flourishing: Owaisi

MP Owaisi said that apart from Sajjad Ali, Mulla Ali and two other youths from Banjara Hills are also trapped in this trap. This entire incident is part of the international cyber scam and human trafficking ring flourishing in South-East Asia, which trap Indian youth by luring them with attractive salaries and then push them into ‘death camp’ like conditions.

Owaisi appealed to S Jaishankar

Owaisi has questioned the central government that when the government talks about ‘Vishwa Bandhu’, then why is it delaying in saving the lives of its own citizens? He has asked the Foreign Minister to take personal interest in this matter and talk to the Government of Thailand and Myanmar at the level and run a special relief operation to bring back all the 16 Indians safely. Seeing the pain of these families, the only way out is for the government to take concrete steps.
