The killed terrorist has been identified as Usman from Pakistan. Usman was associated with the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. Recently, security forces had faced terrorists near Kahog forest area in Najote forest area of ​​Bilwar. Then there was information about at least 3 terrorists hiding in the area.

Joint operation of army and police

According to intelligence, on January 23, 2026, the security forces, along with the army and police, had started an operation in the Parhetar area of ​​Kathua. Here the army had surrounded the area. After this contact was established. One terrorist was killed in precise action by Joint Forces. The search operation is currently going on.

In the month of February 2024, Jaish-e-Mohammed had infiltrated a group of 10 terrorists including Usman into Jammu, which also included Saifullah, Farman, Pasha, and Adil.

Ongoing encounter in the forests of Dhanu Parol

Earlier news had come that an encounter has started between Indian security forces and terrorists in Bilwar of Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. Fierce firing is taking place in the forests of Dhanu Parol. Security forces had received information about some terrorists hiding in the area, after which a search operation was being conducted by the Indian security forces. During this search operation, terrorists and security forces came face to face and the terrorists started firing.

This action of Indian security forces on terrorists is being considered as the first major encounter of 2026. These terrorists had martyred four Kathua police personnel last year on March 26, 2024. He was absconding for the last 9 months. In such a situation, when the security forces got information about the terrorists, the army cordoned off the entire area and conducted a search operation.

Pakistani army drone seen near LOC on Tuesday

A Pakistani drone was seen hovering near the India-Pakistan border in Kathua district late on Tuesday night. The army took action on this and activated the anti-drone system. This drone was seen during army surveillance. This was the fifth incident within 10 days. On the evening of 17 January, the drone was seen in Ramgarh sector.

Here, security agencies are on alert in view of Republic Day. They suspect that these drones are being used to know the position of the army, or to drop weapons and narcotics for terrorists.
