Senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor has given a big statement regarding Prime Minister Modi on Saturday (January 24, 2026) amid speculations of displeasure with the party. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi considers the Constitution sacred. Citing Prime Minister Modi’s address to the US Congress in 2016, he said that in that speech, PM Modi had called the Constitution as his holy book.
Addressing the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) held in Kozhikode, Kerala, Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor said that the Indian Constitution has proved itself on the test of time. He said that the Constitution has also seen the period when a party came to power, whose ideological progenitor, the RSS, had once openly rejected the Constitution. Despite this the Constitution remained intact.
He reminded that after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power, the discussion had intensified that the party could abolish the Constitution. During this time he met RSS ideologue K. N. Also mentioned were the reports related to the writing of the draft of the new Constitution by Govindacharya.
