iPhone will ask the reason for the call
In iOS 26, Apple added a new feature called ‘Ask Region for Calling’. After enabling this feature, if you get a call from an unknown number, the iPhone will first ask you for the name and reason for calling. In this feature, the phone will not ring as soon as the call comes, rather the caller will be put on hold first. When he tells the name and reason for calling, it will be visible on your screen in real time. Based on the response of the other person, you will be able to know who the caller is and why he has called you. After this, if you want, you can also accept or reject the call. Apart from this, you also get the option to ask for more information from the caller without picking up the phone.
How to enable?
To enable the feature, open iPhone’s Settings, go to Apps and select Phone. Here in the Screen Unknown Callers section you will see the option of Ask Region for Calling. This feature will be enabled as soon as you tap on it. At the same time, if you do not want calls to come from any unknown number, then you can choose the option of silence in this section. After enabling it, all calls coming from unknown numbers will go to voicemail.
