An airline coming from London to Hyderabad received a bomb threat. After this the entire airport was put on alert. The plane is said to be of British Airlines. The plane had flown from London to Hyderabad.
Taking seriously the bomb threat received against British Airlines, airport officials were present at the spot. When the plane landed at the airport, they adopted safety protocols.
Sources told news agency PTI that the customer service of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here had received an email regarding bomb threat on BA 277 flight coming from Heathrow to Hyderabad on Monday. After this the plane landed safely and standard security protocol was adopted. The flight has departed for Heathrow.
What is security protocol?
The aircraft is isolated as per standard security protocols. Baggage and passengers are checked. The fire brigade vehicle is kept on alert. The help of sniffer dogs is taken.
Threats were received in the initial months
Earlier also, at the beginning of the month, IndiGo’s Madina-Hyderabad and Sharjah-Hyderabad flights had also received two similar emails. After this, the route of the plane coming from Madina to Hyderabad was changed to Ahmedabad.
A threat demanded one million dollars
Another threat was received on 9 December. A demand for one million dollars was made in this. After this, high alert was issued to all the international terminals.
Who is sending threatening emails?
RGIA police and cyber crime teams are investigating these cases. People sending threats are using foreign servers and VPNs. Due to this it is becoming difficult to identify them. These fake threats being received continuously have definitely increased the concern of the airport administration and security agencies.
