After the plane crash of Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar on 28 January 2026, the landing of Air India plane in Jaipur has failed. Former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab and Rajasthan Congress in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa was aboard it. The Air India plane was going from Delhi to Jaipur.
Safe landing in second attempt
Air India’s plane AI-1719 attempted to land at Jaipur airport at around 1:05 pm. But as soon as it landed on the runway, the landing failed. The reason for this is said to be runway condition or technical fault. In the first attempt the plane could not land due to unstable approach. The pilot did a go-around of the plane as soon as it touched the runway. After circling in the air for 10 minutes, the plane landed safely in the second attempt. Sukhwinder Singh Randhawa aboard the plane is safe.
What is a go-around?
Airport sources said that this kind of situation completely falls under the safety standards in operation of flights. In such a situation, if the pilot does not feel that landing at any level is safe, then he can decide to take the aircraft into the air again, which is called go-around.
