The convoy of Telangana Tribal Welfare and Sports Minister Adaluri Laxman was attacked by unknown assailants in Medaram late at night. This incident happened when the minister was staying there to take stock of the preparations for Medaram Jatra. The attackers badly broke the glass of the minister’s vehicle and his escort vehicle.
It is being told that at the time of the incident, there was a power failure in the area, taking advantage of which the attackers fled from there. Police reached the spot and started scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby so that the attackers could be identified.
Had come to take stock of the preparations for Jatra
Jaishankar Extensive preparations are going on for the famous Samakka-Saralamma Jatra in Medaram of Bhupalpally district. For the purpose of reviewing these preparations and fine-tuning the arrangements, Minister Adaluri Laxman had reached Medaram and was staying at Harita Hotel. There was a sudden commotion outside the hotel at midnight on Tuesday. Taking advantage of the darkness, some miscreants attacked the minister’s convoy.
In the attack, the glasses of the minister’s official vehicle as well as the escort vehicle present in his security were also shattered. Although there is no news of anyone being seriously injured in this attack, this incident shows a major lapse in the security arrangements of a cabinet minister. After the attack, sensation spread in the entire area and the police force was alerted.
Heavy police force deployed immediately after the incident
As soon as information about the incident was received, heavy police force was deployed on the spot and search of the surrounding areas was started. Local police officials said that the footage of all the CCTV cameras installed in and around Harita Hotel is being scrutinized to identify the attackers. Due to darkness at night and no electricity, there is difficulty in identifying the witnesses, but the police are hopeful of getting some clues. It is not yet clear who is behind the attack and what was the motive. The police is investigating the case from every angle and has claimed to arrest the accused soon.
