Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the foreign ministers attending the second round of India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ meeting. He met everyone at Bharat Mandapam on Saturday. PM Modi stressed the deep and historic people-to-people ties between India and the Arab world.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Foreign Ministers of Arab countries, the Secretary General of the League of Arab States (LAS) and a delegation of heads of Arab countries. The head of the Arab League has come to India to attend the second India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ meeting. At the second IAFMM, PM Modi reiterated India’s commitment to deepen cooperation in trade and investment, energy, technology, health and other sectors.
During this, the Prime Minister reiterated India’s continuous support for the people of Palestine and also welcomed the ongoing peace efforts including the Gaza Peace Plan.

Emphasis on deep-historical ties between India and Arabia
The Prime Minister stressed on enhancing the deep and historical people-to-people ties between India and Arab countries. He explained his vision for India-Arab partnership in the coming years. Also reaffirmed India’s commitment to deepen cooperation in all important areas for mutual benefit.
PM Modi reiterated India’s continued support for the people of Palestine and welcomed the ongoing peace efforts, including the Gaza Peace Plan.
Appreciation of the important role of Arab League
During this, he praised the important role of the Arab League in efforts for peace and stability in the region. This high-level meeting will be co-chaired by India and UAE and will be attended by foreign ministers and senior representatives of all 22 member countries of the Arab League along with the head of the Arab League. According to MEA, this meeting is taking place after a long time of almost a decade. Earlier, the meeting of India-Arab Foreign Ministers was held in Bahrain in 2016.
The Ministry of External Affairs said in its official release, ‘The second India-Arab FMM is expected to further our existing cooperation, enhance and deepen this partnership. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting is the largest institutional mechanism to guide cooperation between India and the League of Arab States (LAS). An MoU was signed between India and the Arab League in March 2002, after which the framework for negotiations was formalized.
