CBI will challenge the bail of Kuldeep Sengar, will file a petition in the Supreme Court

CBI has taken a big decision against the Delhi High Court’s order to suspend the sentence of Kuldeep Singh Sengar, convicted in the Unnao rape case, and grant him bail. The investigating agency has made it clear that it will challenge this order in the Supreme Court as soon as possible and a Special Leave Petition (SLP) will be filed for this. CBI said that the order of the Division Bench of Delhi High Court has been studied in depth, after which it has been decided that the Supreme Court will be approached against the decision of granting bail to the accused and suspension of sentence.

CBI says that this case is very serious and providing justice to the victim is the top priority. According to CBI, Kuldeep Sengar’s appeal and bail plea were strongly opposed by the CBI and the victim’s family in the Delhi High Court. CBI had also filed its reply and written arguments in the court in time. The victim’s family had also opposed the bail citing serious apprehensions and threats regarding security.

Rahul Gandhi had met the victim

The victim had reached 10 Janpath on Wednesday (December 24, 2025) and met former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. During this time, the victim had placed three demands in front of Rahul Gandhi-

1- Help them get a top lawyer to fight against Sengar in the Supreme Court. Rahul promised to do so.
2- Help them shift to a Congress ruled state because they were afraid of being killed and were not confident about their safety. Opposition leader Rahul said that he will do so.
3- The victim’s husband requested the opposition leader for a better job. Rahul ji said that he will pay attention to this.

‘I even appealed to the PM, but…’

After meeting Rahul and Sonia, the Unnao victim said, ‘I even requested to meet the Prime Minister, requested to meet the President, but no one met me, but Rahul bhaiya called me from the front and assured me of getting justice. There is a fear in the minds of the daughters of the country that if someone rapes me, he will go away.

High Court suspended Sengar’s sentence

Delhi High Court on Tuesday suspended the life sentence of Kuldeep Singh Sengar, expelled from BJP, who was serving life imprisonment in the Unnao rape case. The court said that he has already spent seven years, five months in jail.

Kuldeep Sengar had challenged the 2019 decision

Kuldeep Sengar had challenged the lower court’s decision in December 2019. However, he will remain in jail as he is also serving a 10-year sentence in the custodial death of the victim’s father and has not been granted bail in that case.
