Eight Congress MPs suspended from Lok Sabha for ‘unruly’ behavior amid chaos; House adjourned for the day

Eight Congress MPs were suspended from Lok Sabha on Tuesday by the Speaker in the Chair for ‘unruly’ behaviour.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju moved a resolution against Opposition MPs who threw papers during an uproar after Rahul Gandhi sought to quote an article citing former Army Chief MM Naravane’s unpublished book.

The House passed the resolution by a voice vote.

Following that, Speaker in the Chair Dilip Saikia announced the suspension of Congress MPs.

Congress members, led by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, staged a protest outside Parliament building against suspension of party members from the Lok Sabha.
