The Tamil film industry has recently suffered the biggest blow due to the delay in the release of Thalapathy Vijay’s last film ‘Jana Nayagan’. ‘Jana Nayagan’ was to be released as a special release on Pongal 2026, but its release date was postponed after CBFC refused to issue the censor certificate for the film. Now the news is coming that the makers of the film have made all the cuts as per CBFC’s instructions, which means this film can be released soon.
Makers made cuts as per CBFC’s instructions in ‘Jana Nayagan’
Actually, according to the report of Film Beat, the ‘Jana Nayagan’ team has reworked the final copy of the film, and has made all the cuts suggested by the previous Censor Board committee. According to reports, the new cut of Thalapathy Vijay’s film will be submitted to the revising committee very soon. In such a situation, it can be assumed that the makers of H Vinod’s film, KVN Productions, may withdraw their case against CBFC very soon.
According to the recent updates of Trade Analyzing X Handle Insplag, the makers are waiting for the completion of some formalities related to the final cut to withdraw their case against the Censor Board. In such a situation, the final decision on the Jan Nayakan censor controversy is expected to come by the second week of February 2026, however, KVN Productions has not yet responded to these new claims.
‘Jan Naygan‘ when will it be released?
If everything goes as per plan, the makers will give a big update on the release date of Jana Nayagan in a few days. Quoting Twitter handle Movie Verse, it has been informed that ‘Jana Nayagan’ can be released in theaters on Friday, February 20, 2026.
However, now everything depends on the final decision of the Censor Board on the certification of the film. Even though H Vinod’s film has been cut several times, the makers might have to be satisfied with an A certificate.
