Google Gemini: Google is preparing to make its AI assistant Gemini smarter. According to the new information revealed, the company is working on such features in Gemini which can work directly on behalf of the user on Android phones. This upcoming technology is being called “Screen Automation” through which Gemini will be able to do things like placing orders and booking rides by going inside the apps themselves.
New signs seen in beta version
According to the report of tech website 9to5Google, codes related to this feature have been seen in the 17.4 beta version of the Google app. This information has come to light through APK Teardown in which the features hidden inside the app are detected. Although Google has not yet announced it officially, it is clear that the company is testing this technology internally.
Bonobo Features
The report mentions a special feature which Google has internally named “Bonobo”. This will be part of the Get tasks done with Gemini system. Through this, users will be able to ask Gemini to book a cab from Uber or order food from Uber Eats, that too without opening the app. Initially this feature may be limited to limited apps only, especially Google’s own apps.
How will Screen Automation work?
Through Screen Automation, Gemini will not only answer questions but will also interact with the apps visible on the screen. That means Gemini will be able to do things like choosing an option, filling a form or confirming any action on its own. However, Google has clarified that this feature will not work with every Android app and only selected apps will be supported at the time of launch.
The entire system will be under the control of the user
With so much power, responsibility is also necessary. Google says that Gemini may sometimes make mistakes, so the responsibility for any action will be on the user. The good thing is that if the user wants, he can stop Gemini at any time and take control manually.
Wasabi Features
Apart from Screen Automation, Google is working on another new feature which is being codenamed Wasabi. This feature will be related to Likeness and may include 3D avatars. This technology could be similar to the avatar used in Google Meet. There are indications that users will be able to access and manage their avatar through Gemini. According to Google, only that person can use the identity or avatar of a user.
Android experience will be completely changing
It is clear from all these new features that Google wants to make Gemini not just an AI chatbot but an active assistant for Android phones. In the coming times, the way of using the phone may completely change where Gemini will be seen doing more and more work for you.
