A massive fire suddenly broke out in the State Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) located in Nampally area of Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, on Saturday afternoon, causing chaos there. Strong flames started rising on the first floor of the lab and thick smoke spread. The fire brigade vehicles that reached the spot tried their best to control the fire, but this accident has created an uproar in politics. Senior BRS leader and former minister KTR (KT Rama Rao) has raised a sensational question by expressing doubt on this incident.
KTR accused of destroying evidence
KTR immediately responded by tweeting on X (formerly Twitter) that it is not unusual for a forensic lab to catch fire so quickly. He has directly alleged that is this a part of the conspiracy to destroy the evidence in the ‘Vote for Note’ case and the phone tapping case? According to KTR, the Congress government is supporting those allegations which had no concrete evidence and now perhaps through this fire the same non-existent evidence is being burnt to ashes. He wrote, ‘This accident happening suddenly and attracting attention at the same time raises questions.’
This loss may hide a bigger truth
It is important to understand the full context of this entire matter. The ‘vote-for-note’ case is of 2015, in which there was an allegation of trying to buy an MLA and its investigation is done in this forensic lab. At the same time, in recent times the issue of phone tapping was heated, in which the previous government was being targeted. KTR is pointing towards the fact that forensic lab is important for any government and the loss here can hide some big truth.
At present, the work of extinguishing the fire is going on and the officials have started assessing the damage, but these allegations of KTR have started a new debate in the politics of Hyderabad. Now it remains to be seen whether the administration is able to remove these doubts or not.
