No compromise on violation of election code of conduct: DGP
After taking stock of the security arrangements at the field level, it was found that the administration has prepared a blueprint according to the needs of each category. The deployment of security forces has been increased at ultra-sensitive centers and strict vigil will be maintained to keep an eye on every small activity. Telangana DGP has given a clear warning that there will be no compromise and strict legal action will be taken against those who violate the election code of conduct.
Elections canceled in a ward of Maktal Municipality after the death of BJP candidate.
Meanwhile, a big question mark has been raised on the election environment. The election to be held in the 6th ward of Maktal Municipality has been cancelled. Actually, a case of suspicious death of a BJP candidate had come to light here. This issue has created a stir in political circles. Union Minister Kishan Reddy and MP Laxman have raised this matter in both the Houses of Parliament and demanded an impartial investigation into the death of the BJP candidate, due to which the matter has heated up further.
After the elections, we will know how the security arrangements were.
Now all eyes are on tomorrow’s voting. Maintaining peace and order in these elections spread across 7 corporations and 116 municipalities is a big challenge. The security arrangements made on the ground and the strictness of the DGP are proof that the administration does not want to take any risk. Only when the voting ends on Wednesday evening (February 11, 2026), will it be known how effective these stringent security arrangements proved to be.
