Vinod Mehra, born on 13 February 1945 in Amritsar, entered the world of acting since childhood. He debuted as a child artist in the film ‘Ragini’ in 1958, where he played the childhood character of Kishore Kumar. In the year 1971, he debuted as an actor with ‘Ek Thi Rita’, which was a superhit.

He also directed and produced the film ‘Gurudev’, in which Sridevi, Rishi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor were in the lead roles, but he died of a heart attack on 30 October 1990 at the age of just 45. The film ‘Gurudev’ was released after his death in 1993.

Vinod Mehra’s personal life also remained in the headlines. The actor had married three times in his life. He had three wives, Meena Brokay, Bindiya Goswami and Kiran Mehra, and is rumored to be married to actress Rekha as the fourth one. However, Rekha had denied this news in an interview.
However, information about their marriage is available in Yasir Usman’s book ‘Rekha: The Untold Story’. During the shooting of the film ‘Ailaan’, the attraction between Rekha and Vinod Mehra started increasing. Both of them started liking each other and got married secretly in the 1970s. This marriage took place in Kolkata.
After marriage, Vinod Mehra took Rekha to his home in Bombay, but the family clearly refused to accept this relationship. Due to opposition from family members, this relationship could not last long and both of them separated. Nevertheless, the secret of this love and marriage between the two remained in discussion for a long time. However, this relationship never became official.
