Unwanted calls, fake offers and phone ringing all day long have become the biggest problem for crores of mobile users in the country. In view of this problem, telecom regulator TRAI has launched two new and upgraded mobile apps for consumers. The government claims that through these apps it will now be possible to take direct action on spam calls and messages and the common user will be able to check the real status of the mobile network himself.
Which two apps were launched by the government??
The two new apps launched by the government include TRAI DND App and TRAI MySpeed App. Through TRAI DND app, complaints about calls and SMS coming from any unregistered telemarketer or suspicious number can now be made. As soon as the user registers the complaint, he will get a complaint reference number and the concerned telecom company will have to take action as per TRAI rules.
Takes care of users’ privacy dnd app
The special thing is that now after the complaint, the user will also be able to track what action has been taken on his complaint i.e. whether the case is open, closed or investigation is going on. According to TRAI, the new DND app takes care of user privacy. The app asks for access to call logs and messages to make spam detection easier, but if a user does not want to give permission, he can also file a complaint by entering the number manually.
To improve network quality MySpeed app will help
Not only spam calls, slow internet is also a big complaint of people. Keeping this in mind, TRAI has also introduced MySpeed app with new features. With this app, the user can check the download-upload speed of mobile internet, network delay, call latency and data quality himself.
According to TRAI, the data received from MySpeed app will help the regulator and telecom companies in improving the quality of the network. According to TRAI data, more than 17 lakh spam complaints were registered through the DND app in the year 2025, which shows how big a problem spam calls have become in the country and how troubled people are by it.
Android and iOS Both apps being made available on both platforms
The new and upgraded TRAI DND and MySpeed apps are being made available on both Android and iOS platforms. TRAI has appealed to people to download these apps and report spam calls and network related problems. This means that now the path has been opened for action rather than just complaining about unwanted calls and poor network. These two apps of the government are giving direct weapons to common mobile users.
