Relations between the US-Iran: Amidst the increasing tension with Iran and the increasing presence of the US Navy in the Middle East, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has clearly said that America still wants to resolve the matter through talks with Iran. He also said that if given a chance, President Donald Trump is ready to meet Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Trump’s thinking – talking to the enemy is not weakness
Rubio said in a conversation that Trump believes that talking directly is the right way to resolve big disputes. He says that meeting any opposition leader is not a concession or bowing down. Rubio said that if Ayatollah Ali Khamenei himself expresses his desire to meet, then Trump will definitely meet. This would not mean that they agree with them, but because the only way out is through dialogue.
doors of dialogue open
Rubio’s statement has come at a time when America has increased its military strength in the area. He says that this step has been taken as a precaution to prevent any possible attack from Iran. He said that in the past also Iran has been accused of targeting American interests. He also reiterated that America will not allow Iran to make nuclear weapons under any circumstances. He says that this will threaten the security of both the world and the region.
priority to agreement
Military presence has increased but Rubio says Trump is still in favor of dialogue and compromise. He indicated that talks could take place soon. American special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner may also participate in this conversation. Rubio said that the President’s first choice is always to find a solution by compromise.
Relations with China and other countries
Rubio also said that it is not unusual for America’s allies to increase contact with China. He described the visits of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to China as normal diplomacy. He said that dialogue between big powers is necessary so that unnecessary conflict can be avoided. Rubio also said that Trump has already met Chinese President Xi Jinping and may visit Beijing in future also.
