After US President Donald Trump’s repeated military threats to Iran, rumors of another war have intensified in the Middle East. However, representatives of both the countries will come together again at the negotiating table in Geneva on Tuesday (17 February 2026). Amidst all this, the Taliban government of Afghanistan has said that if America attacks, they will support Iran. Taliban government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid also said on Sunday (15 February 2026) that there should be no war between Iran and Afghanistan.
Taliban came with Iran
In an interview given to Radio Iran’s Pashto service, Zabihullah Mujahid said, ‘If Iran asks for help after the American attack, Kabul will support Tehran. Last year, Iran won the war with Israel. He said that Iran will respond to America’s attack in any case and will win. On the other hand, Trump says that Iran should sign a nuclear deal as soon as possible otherwise America will take military action.
What are the issues of conflict between Iran and America?
America wants Iran to stop uranium enrichment completely. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi has put a condition before America regarding this. He said Tehran would be ready for a nuclear deal with the US if Washington agreed to discuss lifting sanctions on Iran. He also reiterated that despite pressure from Washington and Israel, Iran will not discuss its ballistic missile program.
Iran has full right to defend itself: Taliban
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid says that America and Iran should find a solution to the nuclear deal through negotiations. He said, ‘Afghanistan wants all issues to be resolved through diplomatic means, although Iran has every right to defend itself. Iran and Afghanistan share a long border. The special thing is that there is a tense atmosphere in Iran regarding Afghan refugees, yet Taliban stands in support of Afghanistan.
