The second round of meeting between America and Iran is being held in Geneva on Tuesday (17 February 2026). Both countries are trying to resolve tensions over Tehran’s nuclear program. Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned US President Donald Trump thrice within 30 minutes. Khamenei’s warning regarding America diverted the world’s attention from the discussions taking place between the two representatives at the table.
Khamenei’s warning to Trump
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei targeted Donald Trump by posting on X. Referring to the US Army, he warned about Washington’s increasing military presence near Iran. Referring to Trump’s previous statement, Khamenei said, ‘The US President has said that for 47 years the United States has not been able to eliminate the Islamic Republic. He himself admitted this, which is a good thing. I am saying that even you (Donald Trump) will not be able to do this.
Khamenei threatened to destroy US warship
After this, Khamenei raised questions on American military power and said, ‘The American President keeps saying that he has the strongest military power in the world. Sometimes even the strongest military power in the world can get such a severe blow that it cannot stand up again.
Referring to the American naval deployment, he said in the third warning, ‘The Americans continuously say that they have sent a warship towards Iran. Of course warship is a dangerous military equipment. Technical superiority alone does not help in the battlefield. More dangerous than an American warship is the weapon that can sink it into the depths of the sea.
US is increasing military power near Iran
Satellite images released by BBC have confirmed the presence of USS Abraham Lincoln near Iran. Reports also indicated that the world’s largest warship USS Gerald R. Ford has also departed and may reach the Middle East within a few weeks.
