This comedy drama, directed by Shashank Bali, did well at the box office. It opened with Rs 20 lakh and collected Rs 90 lakh on its opening weekend. After this it collected around Rs 1.35 crore in the first week. Earned a handful in the second week. With this, the film has ended its entire box office journey by earning Rs 1.50 crore nett at the Indian box office, which is a very bad result for a film which has come from the small screen to the big screen.
Popularity of TV is not a guarantee of success on the big screen

Before this film starring Aasif Shaikh, Shubhangi Atre and Rohitashv Gaur, another popular TV sitcom, Khichdi, also had a film adaptation.
