Tamil Nadu News: capital of tamilnadu Chennai A serious case of molestation of a 19 year old student studying in a private technical education training institute in Shanti Colony, Anna Nagar, has come to light. The victim had recently joined this training institute about 10 days ago and was taking training in technical education. The incident took place during a training class when 42-year-old Manimaran, working as a trainer at the institute, did obscene acts with the student.
According to the information received, accused Manimaran tried to sit near the student on the pretext of giving training and behaved inappropriately with her. The student was mentally hurt by this incident and first complained about it to the management of the institute. After this he lodged a formal complaint at Annanagar police station.
After investigation the accused was arrested
Based on the complaint of the victim, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code Act (BNS) and Tamil Nadu Prevention of Harassment of Women Act (TNPHW) and started investigation. A special team was formed under the leadership of Inspector of Annanagar Police Station, which conducted a thorough investigation considering the seriousness of the case.
Court ordered to send the accused to jail
During the investigation, the police came to know that the accused Manimaran had been appointed as a trainer in this training institute a few days ago. On the basis of technical and direct evidence, the police arrested the accused from Ponniammanmedu area. After the arrest, the accused was interrogated, in which he accepted many important facts related to the incident.
After completion of the interrogation, the accused was presented in the court, where the court ordered to send him to jail in judicial custody. The administration has assured that the legal process will be adopted with full seriousness to give strict punishment to the culprit.
