Speaking on The Right Angle Podcast, the actor said that it is important to strike a balance between allowing public opinion into one’s life and maintaining one’s self, no matter what anyone says on the internet. Shahid Kapoor said, “It’s a difficult journey because you have to open up, but you also have to be careful about what and how much you allow to sit in your system. Do you want to wake up every morning and make everyone happy or do you want to make yourself happy?”
The actor further added, “You have to ask yourself again and again, ‘Did I have a good time? Did it help me grow? And does it reflect my creative energy?’ “In the end, this should satisfy my hard work and sense of accomplishment.”

He also said that anonymity on the internet has forced people to forget their boundaries. He said, “I say this all the time, no matter what, people may call me old-fashioned, but you should have the authority to speak, only then should you open your mouth, this has been taught to me since childhood.”
Shahid Kapoor further said, “First you see how much water you are in, then talk. So you have to keep yourself calm amidst all this, of course, you have to be ready for constructive criticism, but at the same time you have to fill yourself with positivity and support yourself.”
