NZ vs PAK Match Abandoned: Pakistan vs New Zealand match of Super-8 due to rain, fans’ eyes yearning for action, not a single ball was played

Pakistan vs New Zealand Match Cancelled: The Super-8 match between Pakistan and New Zealand has been cancelled. Due to rain not a single ball could be bowled in the match. Pakistan team won the toss and decided to bat first but after that it rained continuously. The match officials also tried to organize a five-over match, but all efforts failed.

Due to the cancellation of the first match of Super-8, both Pakistan and New Zealand teams have got one point each. To have a five-over match, a cut-off time of 10:16 was set, but at around 9.05 the match was officially declared cancelled.

Before this match, there was doubt over Babar Azam’s play. Babar is constantly struggling with poor form and his strike rate has been very poor. Despite this, Babar was given a chance in the playing eleven, but this time Fakhar Zaman returned to the Pakistan team. Fakhar replaced Khwaja Nafay.

On the other hand, New Zealand also entered the field with full preparation, because it had made not one or two but 3 major changes in its playing eleven. Ish Sodhi and Lockie Ferguson were also brought back.

Now Pakistan’s next match in Super-8 will be with England on 24th February. On the other hand, New Zealand has to face Sri Lanka on 25th February. Tomorrow i.e. on 22nd February, two matches will be played in Super-8. India will face South Africa, while England will face Sri Lanka.
