Javed Akhtar got angry when Taliban gave permission to beat women, raised questions on Muftis and Maulanas of India

The country’s famous lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar has expressed surprise over Taliban’s decision regarding women on social media. Expressing strong objection, he has also raised questions about the silence of the Muftis and Maulanas of the country. The Taliban government of Afghanistan has recently implemented a new penal code. Under this, women have been given almost slave status. There now husbands have free rein to physically harass their wives.

Javed Akhtar has made a post on social media opposing this law. Apart from this, the leaders of Islam religion in the country have been appealed to oppose this decision and raise their voice against it.

While posting on X, he wrote that Taliban has now legalized wife beating. The only condition is that no bones should be broken. He wrote that if a woman goes to her maternal home even without the consent of her husband, she will have to face three months in jail. Javed Akhtar asked why the Muftis and Mullahs of India are silent on this? He appealed to condemn it without any strings and conditions. All this is being done under the guise of religion.

Javed Akhtar wrote in his post that whatever be the political gain, we should not give any trust or respect to these ill-mannered barbaric Taliban. They are the trash of the world.

What is Taliban law, on which Javed Akhtar got angry?

Actually, a new penal code has been implemented in Afghanistan towards Taliban rule. This is a document of about 90 pages. It has the signature of the supreme leader there, Hibatullah Akhundzada. It will soon be given to the courts there. This law is divided into two parts. In this, upper class and lower class are at the bottom. In this, the punishment will be decided considering the social status of the person. Under this law, women there have been given the status of slaves.
