Namo Bharat Live Updates: PM Narendra Modi will flag off the Namo Bharat train from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Begumpul station in Meerut today. With this, the dream of metro of the people of Meerut is also going to be fulfilled. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Meerut Metro service on 22 February.
On February 20, the Namo Bharat train was trialled from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut Begumpul without stopping. During this period, trials of Meerut Metro were also conducted from Meerut Begumpul to Meerut South station. Now its regular operation will start from 22nd February. The Prime Minister will also address a public meeting after inaugurating the Namo Bharat Train and Meerut Metro service.
CM Yogi will welcome
According to the district administration, the Prime Minister will reach Hindon Airport at 11 am. His helicopter will land at the same helipad at 11:30 am. Yogi Adityanath will welcome him here.
PM Modi and CM Yogi will travel by metro
At 12:30 pm, the Prime Minister will flag off Namo Bharat Train and Meerut Metro from Shatabdi Nagar station. After this, the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister will travel together by metro to Meerut South Station. From there the Prime Minister will leave for the public meeting venue in Mohiuddinpur by road. He is expected to reach there around 1 pm.
Gift of development projects also
Before addressing the public meeting, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of many development projects and will also inaugurate some projects. After staying at the venue for about an hour, he will leave for Hindon Airport from Mohiuddinpur Helipad at around 2:10 pm.
Delhiites hope for relief from traffic
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has expressed happiness over the completion of Namo Bharat Metro Station. He said, “Lakhs of people travel between Delhi and Meerut every day. This will be of great benefit to the people. Thousands of vehicles ply on this route. We are happy that this will reduce traffic on the roads. Carbon emissions will reduce and there will be relief from pollution.” He also said that the people of Delhi will get clean and better transport facilities, which will reduce both traffic and pollution.
Service will run from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South
Namo Bharat train will currently run from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South station. About 5 kilometer stretch from New Ashok Nagar to Sarai Kale Khan is ready. The infrastructure from Meerut South to Modipuram has also been ready. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate both these parts today.
Sarai Kale Khan will become the biggest station
Through Namo Bharat train, the distance of 82 kilometers from Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut (Modipuram) will be covered in just 55 minutes. Sarai Kale Khan is the biggest station of this project. There are three lines here and the height of the station is said to be around 22 meters.
