Now reaching Meerut from Delhi has become even easier. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has flagged off the entire line of Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. This train will start for the general public from 6 pm on 22nd February. The journey of about 80 kilometers from Sarai Kale Khan to Modipuram will now be completed in just 55 minutes. This facility has brought great relief to lakhs of passengers.
Complete 82 kilometer corridor ready
The total length of Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor is 82 kilometers. Now this entire route is operational. The portion from Sarai Kale Khan to New Ashok Nagar in Delhi has also been included. A 21 km long metro track from Meerut South to Modipuram has also started in Uttar Pradesh. The maximum speed of this train is 180 kilometers per hour, although it will run at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour. This rail service will rapidly connect cities like Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Modinagar and Meerut to Delhi.
Country’s fastest Meerut Metro
The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Meerut Metro service between Meerut South and Modipuram. The special thing is that Metro and Namo Bharat trains will run on the same track. The maximum speed of Meerut Metro will be 120 kilometers per hour. It will cover the entire distance in about 30 minutes, stopping at all the stations. It is considered to be one of the fastest metro services in the country.
Special features of Namo Bharat Train
Namo Bharat train is completely air conditioned and has six coaches. Special care has been taken for the convenience and safety of passengers. There are two types of coaches in the train – premium and standard.

- fire extinguisher
- luggage storage space
- Screen giving information about train speed and next station
- Refreshment facility from vending machine
- Necessary facilities have also been provided in the standard coach, but there will be no facility like vending machine.
Ghaziabad, Meerut and Baghpat benefit
Cities like Ghaziabad, Meerut and Baghpat will directly benefit from this corridor. People will take less time to travel daily. New opportunities for business and employment will also increase. The train will start from Meerut Modipuram and reach Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi and will pass through 13 stations.
