Actress Taapsee Pannu, who has worked in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam films, recently told that women often have to face strange and uncomfortable situations while working in the South film industry. The actress told that sometimes directors of Tamil and Telugu films ask heroines to wear padded bras to look good on screen. Due to this, the attention goes only on one part of their body.

Taapsee Pannu talked about South Industry
Recently, while talking in Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Taapsee said that sometimes strange and embarrassing demands are made to women in South films. He was asked why the stomach and navel are shown so much in the songs of Bhojpuri and South films. Taapsee said that she has also tried to understand this trend. He said that in many South films, the focus is on the navel, whereas in Hindi films, most people’s attention is towards cleavage.

Taapsee said, ‘Sometimes in the South it is said, ‘Wear a padded bra’. But then the problem is that whom should the director tell on the set, because usually there are only one or two girls there. So the director tells the assistant director, the AD tells the styling team or a woman from the hair team, and then this message finally reaches the heroine.

Taapsee further said, ‘Think how embarrassing it would be when someone had to get up and leave in the middle of a song shoot, and everyone was watching to see what the difference was. Then it is said that if you still do not see the difference, then go back and change again… it happens. He also told that film makers often highlight certain body parts on screen because they think that this will appeal to the audience.
