Layers of terrorist conspiracy revealed through posters on Janpath Metro, Lashkar module exposed; Big action by Delhi Police

The Special Cell of Delhi Police has taken major action by exposing a big module related to Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is planning terrorist plots in many states of the country including Delhi. Eight terrorists have been arrested in simultaneous raids conducted in Delhi, Kolkata and Tamil Nadu. Of these, seven accused are Bangladeshi citizens, who had entered India illegally and were living on the basis of fake Indian identity cards.

Terrorists were hiding with the help of fake Indian identity

According to the police, this entire network was being operated from Bangladesh. The main handler of the module is Shabbir Ahmed Lone alias Raja alias Kashmiri, who is a resident of Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir and was currently hiding in Bangladesh and carrying out Lashkar-e-Taiba activities. Shabbir has already been arrested with weapons and grenade in the year 2007 and has served his sentence in Tihar Jail. The investigation revealed that a conspiracy was being hatched to re-establish a terrorist network in India by radicalizing the accused.

Suspected terrorists did recce in many big cities of India

These people were assigned the task of recceing important and sensitive locations of the country. Police claim that possible terrorist attacks were averted by taking timely action. The case started on 8 February 2026. When complaints were received about posters with pro-Pakistan and terrorist ideology being put up in many areas of Delhi including Janpath Metro Station.

The posters had pictures of slain terrorist Burhan Wani and inflammatory slogans written on them. During the investigation, clues reached Kolkata, from where two accused were arrested. After this, six more members were arrested in a raid in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu.

Delhi Police also found mobile phones, Bangladeshi passports

Delhi Police has recovered mobile phones, credit-debit cards, POS machines, Bangladeshi passports and a large number of objectionable posters from the premises of the accused. Initial interrogation has revealed that the accused were preparing to collect weapons and recruit new people. At present the investigation is going on and other people associated with the network are being searched.
